Fiction
Size limit: 8000
We accept previously unpublished and polished prose up to 8,000 words year round, unless announced otherwise. We are always looking for tightly woven short works under 2,000 words and short-shorts around 500 words. No multiple submissions but simultaneous is fine as long as you let us know asap if the piece is accepted elsewhere.
Note: We consider fiction (and poetry) that has appeared in print, online magazines, public forums, and blogs as being published. Rarely, do we accept anything already published and then only by solicitation. Once the piece is published in Eckleburg, author is welcome to re-publish the work anywhere and everywhere. In these cases, we ask that the original publication be credited each time to The Doctor T. J. Eckleburg Review.
Poetry
Accepting poetry of all forms. Please submit one to five poems as separate submissions. One submission per poem. Thank you.
Prosetry Contest
Size limit: 500
We look forward to reading your prosetry contest submission. Before submitting, PLEASE make sure you've read the current issue's prosetry contest guidelines regarding this month's prosetry contest prompt. Each month the prompt changes. Please submit only once per contest period.This is NOT the place to submit general prose or poetry. Submissions entered for this category that are NOT PROSETRY CONTEST SUBMISSIONS for this month's specific prompt will be deleted unread and without comment. Submissions uploaded after the deadline date as outlined by the prosetry guidelines for this month will be deleted unread and without comment.
Editors reserve the right to not choose a winner for any given month's contest. In this case, neither winner nor story for that month's contest will be posted. Contestants are always welcome to submit again in the next month's contest. We ask that winners please wait at least one month before submitting again.

We accept polished pieces up to 3,000 words year round, unless announced otherwise. Preferences veer toward shorter works under 1500 words with an arts focus. If you wish to include a bio, keep it short, under 200 words.

GALLERY: Send us a link for your online portfolio or YouTube clip of music, poetry slam, etc. If you are a visual artist, please includes all the works (3 to 10) that you would like us to consider for the Gallery. You can also send a 100 to 200 word bio. If accepted, we will request attached jpegs and/or audio files of the chosen works.
